Abstract

This essay will develop the main ideas surrounding small-scale male chauvinism in society and universities, specifically focusing on the phenomenon of mansplaining. The aim is to characterize and unravel its origins and its influence on women and young people. The link between current forms of education in academic institutions and the contemporary machismo present in them. The figure of mansplaining is a daily reality for many women and adolescents; however, not everyone is aware of its meaning.
